An Audience with Sir William Heseltine
Location: Christ Church, Claremont (not the school)
Nicknamed by the media here and in London as the ‘boy from Wyalkatchem’, even though he only lived
there for less than a year when he was three, Sir William Heseltine spent his working life in Public Service.
After a meteoric rise to become Private Secretary to Prime Minister R. G. Menzies at the age of 25, he
went on to become a permanent member of the Royal Household at Buckingham Palace, eventually
becoming The Queen’s Private Secretary and Keeper of The Queen’s Archives.
Join Richard Offen as he talks to Sir William about his life from the formative years in East Fremantle to the
heady heights of Buckingham Palace.
