The arrival of the Hougoumont in WA on 9 January 1868 marked the end of convict transportation anywhere in the world. WA Genealogical Society (Inc) and the Royal WA Historical Society (Inc) will hold a series of talks and Exhibitions about men who arrived as part of the Convict Era.


On Sunday 14th January, 2018, WAGS Convict Group meeting will commemorate the 150th Anniversary of the occasion. Speakers Bevan Carter and Joanne Hyland will talk about the Hougoumont and its cargo of convicts.
Members and visitors are invited to join us at
1pm for 1.30pm Presentation followed by afternoon tea.
