Nyungar Wanginj Nidya Bilya: River Stories - a film

When: 10:00am - 26/05/2021

Location: 49 Broadway, Nedlands

This film is a documentary providing a resource of the cultural and historical knowledge of the rich Whadjuk Nyungar
habitations along the South Perth foreshore of the Derbarl Yaragan (Swan River). It tells the fascinating story of Whadjuk
Nyungar people’s lives on the foreshore and aims to raise awareness of Whadjuk Nyungar history, life and culture.
It is a resource to be used at significant events, presentations, and educational opportunities, and to enhance
celebrations that support intergenerational and multicultural interaction.

Kerry-Ann Winmar is a Whadjuk Yorga from the Perth region who established Nyungar Tours in 2018 with the support
of family. The tours explore South Perth, Kings Park and beyond, walking with Traditional Owners, visiting
significant cultural sites, hearing traditional stories and learning about medicinal plants and bush foods. Kerry-Ann
won NAIDOC week’s 2020 Business Award for Nyungar Tours. Visit https://nyungartours.com.au
