Albany Historical Society Inc.

The Albany Historical Society was founded in 1962 by residents who were very concerned about the lack of Protection being afforded to the towns heritage by the local authority.
Albany Historical Society Inc.

Today the Society administers two museums (Patrick Taylor Cottage built 1832 and the old gaol 1852) and a storage facility housing the some 20, 000 items in our collection. We also hold some 60, 000 items within our photography collection. The Society has a membership base of some 300 plus members.

The Society is administered by a Committee of 12 members that meet once a month at our head office located at 37 Duke Street Albany. The day-to-day running of the Society is undertaken by our Chief Executive Officer and his administration team who oversees the various departments within the Society. Our office is open from 10 AM to 1 PM Monday to Thursday and you can personally visit us during these hours at 37 Duke Street, Albany Western Australia
