About Affiliate Cunderdin Historical Society Building

In 2017 our Historical Society will celebrate its 50th year of existence having been founded in 1967.  We have about 20 members and long standing officers as president, Secretary and Treasurer.

We meet on the second Saturday of each month in our Museum (pictured above). The Museum is open 10 am to 4pm and houses our Archives. Situated in Forrest Street, the building was once the Number Three Pumping station and went through a significantly restoration process assisted by an unemployment Relief Grant. The process was completed in 1973 and has since acted as our museum and meeting place.

In 2006 we hosted the State History Conference, including visits to the local Agricultural School.

Publications that can be found in our Museum include A Wheatlands History, Life in early Cunderdin, Anecdotes and Yarns, Cunderdin 40 Club, Cunderdin Hotels, Cunderdin Meckering Cottages, Cunderdin Volunteer Fire Brigade, Cunderdin Football Club, Horses for courses, Railway Dam Catchment, Skits and Bits, Tenth Light Horse, Tiger Moth History, First Fifty years of the Cunderdin Historical Society, Holy Cross Convent Cunderdin and One Teacher Schools in Cunderdin / Meckering Shire.
