The Royal Western Australian Historical Society is a valuable resource for those interested in teaching history in Western Australia. The society offers access to a vast collection of historical resource materials, including books, documents, photographs, maps, and artifacts.

RESOURCES FOR SCHOOLS                              

The Society has two Museum in a Suitcase kits available for loan to primary schools.  The History in a Suitcase program offers a hands-on approach to learning about Western Australia’s history and supports the HASS Curriculum.  Teachers’ notes are provided to support students’ learning experiences.

Memory Box Program for Seniors

Memory boxes have been designed for senior citizens and include familiar items from the last 90 years.  Each item in the memory box has been chosen to spark conversation and reminiscences.

Memory boxes can be borrowed by retirement or care homes and other senior’s groups.  Notes are provided to provide guidance in promoting discussion.

Group Visits

The museum welcomes pre-arranged visits from educational institutions, nursing homes and community groups.  We can provide tours, talks and hands on activities.  Light refreshments can also be arranged.  Limited free parking is available.
